Can you imagine even one day without turning on the TV, radio? We are bombarded with media on all sides, whether we want it or not, the world has moved forward so much that it is becoming inevitable.
January 24 marks World Mass Media Day.
This holiday was established by Pope Paul VI, on the day of St. Francis Selezes, who is the patron saint of journalists and all creators of social media. As Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI stressed, mass media should be guided by what is right, without offending human dignity, and emphasize family values.
Mass media, broadcast content on a global scale and are massively received. Unconsidered content that goes out into the world often has the opposite effect. The first medium to be introduced was the press - 19th century (Europe, North America), film - 1920s, radio - 1930s, television - 1950s. However, without the invention of University of Pennsylvania scientists J.P. Eckert and J.W. Mauchly, we would not have computers today. Their prototype called ENIAC, despite its bagatelle weight of 27 tons, contributed to the development of technology. And so, year after year, computers did not serve only the military, but began to be a working tool and an indispensable friend to each of us.
