Is there any limit to the number of having automation rules? Is there any maximum number that a customer cannot exceed? E.g. a customer creates the eightyth rule and can no longer create the eighty-first rule because he has exceeded the limit.

No, there is no limit when creating automation rules. A customer can have an infinite number of them.
