World Book Lovers Day 📚🌻

Hi everyone! August 9 marks World Book Lovers' Day. Below I will present some statistics related to this day: - 38 percent of Poles read at least one book from autumn 2021 to spring 2022 - this is due to the fact that reading in Poland has returned to pre-pandemic levels,- a noticeable decline is also due to the replacement of traditional books with audiobooks and podcasts,- in 2020, 42 percent of Poles could boast of having read one book in full or in excerpts.Personally, I really like to spend time reading, but unfortunately - then you have to quickly part with the book because reading goes too fast 😉What is your favorite book? Or have you recently read something you really enjoyed?Let me know, I would love to know new suggestions! 🦉

Binge-watching: a blessing or a curse?

Even though binge-watching is not a new phenomenon, the popularity of OTT streaming services has led to an increase in this practice. Before the era of streaming platforms, people used to wait for another episode for a day or week before watching it, but now that the entire series is released at once, many people watch all of them in one sitting.How about you? Do you know that... today we are celebating.....International Tiger Day! 🐯😍

Tigers are the largest and strongest cats in the world. An adult male can weigh up to 300 kg!🐅These big cats have a huge caloric demand and appetite. They can eat as much as 40 kg of meat in one meal!.🍗Unfortunately, these beautiful cats ...are dramatically dying out..Currently, there are only  3 000 tigers in the wild :(This day is an ideal opportunity to do something good for the environment and planet :)🌍How about you ...do you know some unpopular celebrations?

Summer in the city

I was born in Krakow. For several years, I have spent every summer away from Poland. This time, I spend the whole summer in my lovely city. I know this place by heart. Bastille Day, 14th July

Hi Everyone!Every year since 1880, the French Republic has celebrated its national day on the 14th July, Bastille Day. The festivities begin in the morning, with the traditional military parade on the Avenue des Champs Elysées. After preparing all year, the military troops will parade down the city's most beautiful avenue before a huge crowd of spectators, and the French President. Hello everyone! The weather outside last week wasn't very pleasant, was it?  If you, like me, are a weather-dependent, you've probably noticed increased fatigue lately. This is not a myth, according to one study, nearly 9% of people are "rain haters," they feel angrier and less happy on days with more precipitation.  Another study found that rain increases the number of negative Facebook posts.  Personally, I'm really glad there's no more rain in the forecast for this week, but how do you feel about rainy weather? 🌧

Let's celebrate Dolly's birthday anniversary!

Did you know, that on 5th of July 1996 the first cloned from an adult somatic cell mammal was born?Dolly had three mothers: one provided the egg, another the DNA, and a third carried the cloned embryo to term.Dolly's existence was announced to the public on 22 February 1997. It gained much attention in the media. A commercial with Scottish scientists playing with sheep was aired on TV, and a special report in Time magazine featured Dolly. Science featured Dolly as the breakthrough of the year. Even though Dolly was not the first animal cloned, she received media attention because she was the first cloned from an adult cell.Dolly lived her entire life at the Roslin Institute in Midlothian. There she was bred with a Welsh Mountain ram and produced six lambs in total.On 14 February 2003, Dolly was euthanised because she had a progressive lung disease and severe arthritis. A Finn Dorset such as Dolly has a life expectancy of around 11 to 12 years.

On this occasion, of course in addition to the best wishes to all dads a handful of interesting facts that you may not have known:1) Only in Poland and Nicaragua we celebrate Father's Day on June 232) Father's Day is a recognized public holiday in Lithuania and some parts of Spain, and was recognized as such in Italy until 1977.3) It is a national holiday in Estonia, Samoa, and similarly in South Korea, where it is celebrated as Parents' Day4) The custom of celebrating a day dedicated to fatherhood in Catholic Europe has been known since at least 1508. It is also celebrated on St. Joseph's Day, who is referred to in Catholicism as the paternal Nutritor Domini ("Feeder of the Lord"), and in the Southern European tradition as the "putative father of Jesus."Happy once again to all dads!😁🤠

World Blood Donor Day!!

Hi there! June 14 is World Blood Donor Day, established by the World Health Organization!!! The holiday appeared in the calendar in 2004 and was established in honor of Karl Landsteiner - Austrian immunologist and Nobel Prize winner for the discovery of blood groups 🥇 In 2020 in Poland there were 570 077 blood donors, and all the donations were 1 215 469! ❤️This is an amazing result. There is no doubt that this is a very important event, because in a very simple way we can get involved in helping others. The number of blood donors continues to grow year after year, which shows how this issue is gaining in importance. On this day, I would like to pay tribute to everyone who is committed to donating blood - you are amazing 😊!!!

Coffee or ... what?

Hey! For many of us coffee is an indispensable part of every morning and we can't imagine life without it, I am one of those people too. What is your best way to relax after work?

Hi guys!Sometimes there are days when stress eats away at us to a greater or lesser degree. When you get home - apart from your duties, of course 😝 - you need to find some time for pleasure and relaxation 😊. In my case, it's a good cup of tea with my cat and retreating into the world of painting and drawing 😍.
